Visceral Tendencies

November 15, 2018 in Visual Art

My artwork comes from a visceral experience with materials, texture and form. I think of them as instinctive documentations on a meditative process. A stream of consciousness during creation develops, allowing exploration of the work’s aesthetic elements.

Each piece follows the haphazard, often disjointed paths of the mind, connected to the artists' experiences and thought. These creations explore the psyche, hoping to textualize notions of life – the objectivity of time and space, the chaotic nature of the modern world and it's changing landscape, and people’s tendency to internalize their anxieties, fears and compulsions.

All of these investigations examine the inner world vs. the external via a nonlinguistic response.
