Member(s)- what's your name, what do you play, and what's your 20 there, good buddy?
My name is Isaiah Demontiney, I twist knobs on pedala, throw guitars, all while screaming and flailing about.
Question number 2- Are you gonna sit there and sandbag this turtle race or are you gonna get in the hammer lane and green stamp this CB Rambo at the next pickle park?
I will have to go Rambo style and go all out with explosions and all (minus one liners).
Melted Nard Puke! Now that's a project name! Have you ever gotten in weird/awkward situations with any would-be promoters because of the name?
No because the only place I've ever played with it is my home which is Kirks' Grocery, and everyone seems to get a good kick out of the name.
Not that there needs to be an answer to this but I have to ask... why Melted Nard Puke?
I got asked to play a noise set and I just compiled 3 random words I could find.
Fair. I saw a Facebook event page recently for a show titled, "Melted Nard Puke, Schizophrenic Suicide, Happy Belated Birthday". Not even sure if I even have a question, just wanted to bring that up, in case anyone reading this missed that. How was that show?
It had a bad turnout but I probably made two art kiddos feel uncomfortable as I started screaming in a bystanders face while gripping them by the collar of their shirt.
You released a track called "Self Centered Hypocrite" with North Pole Records, which is available for download and streaming on Bandcamp. How did that relationship with NPR come about?
Eh, I just felt like getting something put out, so I asked good ol’ bud Shane De Leon if he could help and now I ended up on a label and have stuff put out so WIN WIN!
How much of your live set is improvised?
All of it.
You are friends with Dreyfest alumns "Bath Salts Brigade"- they are a trip and a half (and also know how to name a band)! What's your best Bath Salts Brigade story? You are buds with them from Great Falls, right?
Burning veggie burgers on the 4th of July while hanging out with another band from Great Falls called Spaceheater, and yee.
Speaking of Dreyfest alumns, Kenneth Dewey (Contact Low) is one of my favorite local musicians- any good Contact Low/Ken stories? Do you play shows with Ken, do they "show you the ol’ proverbial ropes" when it comes to noise/making music?
Well every time something bad in my head is about happen, Kenny shows up and comes to the rescue and then we talk about noise stuff! And he gives me a lot of tips on how to make weirder sounds and a better performance, and I've played my first ever Melted Nard Puke set with him (accidentally knocked a screw loose after beating myself with a guitar headstock which was also that broken guitar on display at the old Smiling Doge). Here's a story for ya- so my bud Michael Birdinground and I got done seeing a local show in the winter but we didn't have a ride home, and we're trying to survive the bitter cold, but two hours later Kenny shows up and takes us home (which saved me from getting frostbite).
What's the biggest misconception about noise and noise artists that bothers you?
All misconceptions are true.
Anything you are particularly excited about for this years fest?
Playing with both my dudes in my other band the Scumcucks, and Dreyfest helped me get into performing so practically EVERYTHING but mostly Bull Market.
