I am a post-dad rock scene kid that refuses to understand genres. Tell me about noise music and power plant’s relation to it.
It's the same thing as other sounds, but spelled with a "z" and in a different order.
How would you describe your collaborative process?
We will play with anyone.
Do your live performances take on a unique individual feel because of the chaotic nature of noise?
Yes.
When you perform live, do you attempt to recreate pieces, or do you capture certain ideas and tones from original pieces, and improvise around that? Could you describe a bit of your process preforming live and how that differs from a recording session?
Absolutely no clothing of any sort is permitted in our mountaintop studio, we use space-grade microphones (NASA) so powerful that they will pick up the sounds of any clothing. Sunglasses are ok.
What influences do you draw from in a project like this?
duchamp, brackage, anderson, korine
dust breeding by man ray
expansion in space by marina abramovic and ulay
silver clouds by andy warhol
kai greene
Do you have any drug pairing recommendations for your music?
Water and jenkem, the ganzfeld procedure.
Finally, I had vegan chicken and waffles. What did YOU have for breakfast? (A reference to the notes I saw on power plant's bandcamp page for the "shmed sessions" release, which everybody should totally check out.)
Water and jenkem.
Would you like to plug yourself in any way while we still have time on this earth?
That's personal.
