Sometimes I stop and think, what is Julia Louis-Dreyfest? Is it a fest? Is it a Dreyfus? Is it a rare Pokémon found only on the obscure but positively-received Pokémon Omega Ruby on the Nintendo 3DS? Perhaps it might be a reference to the celebrated 1930s starlet Julia Louis-Dreyfus who drowned in a questionable zeppelin accident off the southern cape of Madagascar while disporting between her hit comedy Margo and her Monkey and the tragically unreleased Blink if you Love Me, Mr. Handsome. Some think Julia Louis-Dreyfest should have ended decades ago. Some (a strident minority composed of basement-dwellers in the north-western corner of Arkansas’ Ozarks) think the fest to be the precursor to a Lovecraftian cataclysm, the penultimate incantation before the end times arrive and undo millennia of civilization and progress…

This summer!! This August!!! Yes, can you believe it? Can you, punk???
Julia Louis-Dreyfest will be returning for its eighth iteration in beautiful downtown Billings, MT on August 5th, 6th, and 7th. This year we are shooting for all of the fest’s staples - art, poetry, comedy, and yes - of course - music. Dreyfest continues to stick to its roots by emphasizing local talent from across Montana but expect acts from both coasts and beyond to grace our stages once again. Expect a classic Dreyfest experience with a few new surprises…
We’re excited to say even more but would like to keep our lips sealed until we get all our lil’ duckies in a row. We will also be posting links for submissions as well in the very near future so that all of you can bring your hard work to the Magic City.Rest easy, Dreyfestians and revel in the fact that we will all be together as culture lovers of all things local and far-off.
