Join us for Waste Radio’s first produced episode of Game of Prose. Two writers enter the literary arena with only one coming out. The rules are simple: the writers are given a prompt with a five page limit and must write the best damn story they can. This episode, join Game of Prose creator Alina Cross as our first judge and our two writers, Eric Toennis and Jordan Finn, who take a stab at inventing their best serial killer story. Psychopaths and perverts abound in what could be bloody bacchanals or surreptitious stranglings. Listen and find out these writers’ murderous potentials to see who deals the best deathblow. Foul play is suspected...
The Contestants
A Montana born writer that fled the Big Sky for the West Coast. He currently resides on the sleepy Siletz River outside of Lincoln City, OR enjoying greener pastures. Eric spends his days writing fiction, essays, poetry, and contemplating the vast expanse of stars, planets, and galaxies above his head. He thinks sports are pretty neat too.
Jordan lives and works between Billings MT and Brooklyn, having just competed his M.A. in English, and is avoiding a real job. He spends his time writing short fiction and essays, playing drums for a number of bands, and reading the works of Philip Roth. He also has a love-hate relationship with video games and television that he’s working out.
The Judge
Alina lives in Pittsburgh, PA, but she’s from a small town in West Virginia that she hates so much it fuels most of her artistic work. Alina is a graduate of makeup art school, so she now slaves away for corporate makeup companies by day. By night she’s a painter, short story writer, podcaster, photographer, and mixed media artist - just keeping the existential dread at bay.
