Hunter Coleman

July 20, 2018 in Interview, Comedy

by Will Thomas

So Hunter. You're a new face to comedy right? How long have you been at it?

I've been doing it for about 3 years total, but really got into it about 2 years ago.

No doubt because of your endless charm! How do you feel about your performance now versus back then?

Haha if you say so. I think it's much better. I realized at some point that I was trying to be a comic, but I wasn't really doing the work of being a comic. Once I started really preparing and having a plan I saw better reactions from crowds and that feeling of actually entertaining people has been a huge motivating factor pushing me forward since.

The beginning of a dream, eh? I agree, preparation is key. So what's your pre-show routine to help calm those nerves?

I don't really have one. I kind of just accept the nerves as part of it and try to use it as energy for stage. I do always call friends the day of and force them to listen to jokes to try to work out the best way to say them. And I always drink a beer before I perform.

Better than me, sir. So you're a family man now. Where would be a place you’d love to take them, if money was no issue?

An adoption agency. Just kidding I love them. I'd love to take them to Disney World because that was a place I really loved as a kid.

Disney World, the quintessential destination. I mean, it could be adoption agency if you leave quick enough... no, no no. So, have you attended a Dreyfest before?

Yeah I was actually in Dreyfest last year. It was a great show.

Great! So you know what to expect. Anything you want to tell the audiences before Aug 11th?

Just to thank them for all the love and support. I can't wait to help make this years show even better than last year.

Thank you Hunter. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Thank you, Will. I appreciate all the hard work you put into all of these events. Without your help I would have nowhere to perform.
