Rylyey Bersano was born and raised in North Seattle, Washington. He went to college for film production but found himself working as a GM for Domino's for the last several years. He discovered that he hated his job and wanted new surroundings. So, he left Domino's, sold a bunch of his stuff, bought an RV and now he and his dog Rocky are going around the country getting into stand up. Billings is Ryley and Rocky’s first stop and so far it's been good to them. Portland is next and after that, who knows.
Ok. Ryley. You're an up and coming comedian. What is your take on comedy as a whole?
It's a great way to express humor in a setting that allows for anything to go. No rules, just laughs.
Alright. Now, you’re newer to comedy here, but have you done comedy anywhere else?
Seattle, at the Comedy Underground and a small club in New Orleans.
Whoa! New Orleans? That must have been fun. Now you are up in good ol’ MT. What's different from here than the other places you've performed?
Things here seem more tight-knit in the community. All the comedians know each other and communicate. Seattle was similar, but felt more competitive and cutthroat.
Well, I'm glad to hear an honest opinion of the pleasantry here. Speaking of pleasantries, what is your favored drink of choice?
Jameson on the rocks.
Ohh. Likes it short and simple. Can tell a lot about a person from what they drink. Like, what they like to drink, or if they're dehydrating. Do you have any special skills? Legal, of course.
I like making music videos. Filming and editing them. I have two degrees in film production that I need to utilize somehow.
Whoa, hear (well, read) that folks, we have a producer here. I know a lot of comics that would love some videos edited.
Its ok. Degrees don't make the person! It's what they do with it.
Which, in your case, doesn’t fit. Moving on! Do you have a favored style of music you listen to mellow out with?
Mellow out? Like...hardcore Russian Amish rap. It's amazing. Lol nah, Pink Floyd is my jam.
Man, I was ready for you to lay down those Ruskie trap beats! Nice. Classic Floyd. Can't go wrong with that. Ever think about blending comedy with music in your routines?
Not for me, classic comedy is my style.
And is classic comedy what people can expect from you at Dreyfest on Aug 11th?
That and more!
Well, short and sweet! Find out more about Ryley and all of our other comics come Aug 11th. Thank you for your time Ryley!
