League Update
Week 13
Mountain Division on Lockdown
Week 13 brings us our first division champ of the year! A huge congrats to Jeremy on officially securing his first division crown in this league. He has literally not lost a game since week 1 and is three games away from breaking the regular season record of 13 wins. That also means he is officially the #1 seed in this year’s playoffs! This truly has been a sophomore year for the ages, and this team is absolutely stacked with scorers. In a pivotal seeding matchup against Josh last week he once again showed why he is the favorite this year to end the terrible reign of Scott.
Pacific Division Still in Uncertain Waters
Commish (6-6, 2nd Pacific)
Josh (8-4, 1st Pacific)
Austin (6-6, 3rd Pacific)
With only three weeks left in the regular season, Josh basically has the Pacific conquered with a two game lead and over Austin and the Commish. But, this time of year is about hope and miracles, right? This would require a historic collapse from Joshy GM, which I don’t necessarily see happening, but boy would it be fun. All he has to do is win 2 of his last 3 games to secure the division and the #2 seed. Don’t let the pressure get you, bud. A round robin of games against each other will sort this out in the coming weeks, and maybe, just maybe Krampus Magic and Commish’s late season magic will rear their pesky heads. *Wink
Remainder of Mountain Division Pretty Mediocre
Jeremy (6-6, 2nd Mountain)
Chris (6-6, 3rd Mountain)
Jake (6-6, 4th Mountain)
Welcome to the “meh club”. These teams aren’t bad, but they aren’t great. The Mountain Division is long out of reach and they’re all jumbled up in 6-6 shit pile. All of these teams are seemingly playoff bound, but seeding is now the main concern. A lower seed means possibly dropping further down the loser’s bracket after a loss in the playoffs, and being in danger of the dreaded last place game. *Lightning strikes Oooooo spooky. Also, with Scott and Laura scoring wins the last few weeks, these teams are also all on a low level alert for missing the playoffs. No one has been mathematically eliminated yet, so don’t count those chickens just yet gentlemen. A slew of key divisional games to end the season is about to send the current playoff picture into a frenzy. YEEHAW
Playoffs?!?!?
Scott (4-8, 5th Mountain)
Laura (4-8, 4th Pacific)
Nam (3-9, 5th Pacific)
Here we have the late bloomers. Scott’s playoff hopes still won’t die damnit! I tried my hardest last week to put a nail in his chances to no avail. The Champ still has some lingering power. Laura has summoned her squad from the grave and won three in a row to bring her tied with Scott and on the cusp of a miraculous playoff berth. Her team’s scoring has finally caught up with actually producing wins. Nam, well, Nam is somehow still not mathematically eliminated! Did I say this last time too?… These teams all still have a shot to clinch that #8 seed and maybe provide some chaos in the postseason. But, seriously, can Scott’s next three opponents (Kyle, Nam, Chris) put an end to this madness??? I beg of thee!!!
May the odds be ever in your favor…
